          On November 6, 2011, Katie Kearney was crowned the new Miss Missouri USA 2012 before an audience at the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts at Lindenwood University. Katie is the daughter of Mauricette and Tim Kearney, former NFL linebacker. This was Katie’s first time competing for Miss Missouri USA.  Katie, twenty-three years old, is a student at Saint Louis University where she is majoring in Communication. Katie is working towards her Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a focus on journalism and media studies in hopes to pursue a career in broadcasting. Katie is a proud member of Lambda Pi Eta and Golden Key International Honour Society at Saint Louis University.

In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as her dog, Rocky. Katie’s hobbies include traveling, yoga, golf, decorating, and anything outdoors. Additionally, Katie is a firm believer in the importance of volunteering and tries to promote that within her community.

          During her reign, Katie plans to use her title as Miss Missouri USA to share her love for children and animals by devoting as much time as possible to work with various children charities and help promote animal legislation laws across Missouri. Katie is excited about her reign and determined to represent Missouri in the Miss USA 2012 pageant to her highest ability. Miss USA will be June 3rd in Las Vegas televised live on NBC.
